The inaugural ReNew Earth Running Haulin' Pollen 5k will kickoff the Lower Phalen Creek Pollinator Festival! Proceeds from the 5k will benefit RER's mission and Lower Phalen Creek Project's work of protecting nature and sacred sites.
Get your PR on this course! The 5k will start at Mounds Park on the crest of Mounds Blvd. The first mile is mostly a decline down a generous hill. The second mile will take runners toward Swede Hollow before looping back to Wakan Tipi. The final mile is on the beautiful, dirt trail in Wakan Tipi and runners will be running on the very land they are helping to protect. Remember, this is a sacred site; run respectfully and stay on the trail. The race concludes at the Pollinator Festival where runners can choose to enjoy a full morning of activities hosted by Lower Phalen Creek Project.
In person runners will receive a Haulin' Pollen 5k t-shirt printed by 6N Sporting Apparel. 6N is a Native and veteran owned and operated business on the Cattaraugus Reservation of the Seneca Nation. Runners must register by Friday, July 23, 2021 in order to receive a shirt.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for female, male, and non-binary will each go home with a hummingbird feeder.
Virtual - RER is also excited to be offering a virtual option for this 5k. Virtual runners can support the work of RER and Lower Phalen Creek Project with their registration and will also receive a Haulin' Pollen 5k t-shirt. There is an additional $5 charge for shipping for virtual runners. You must register by July 23, 2021 in order to receive a shirt.
