2020 Fred Kurz Handicapped 10 Mile

The Fred Kurz 10 Mile is the oldest held running event in Minnesota, first held in 1962 and 1963 as the 10 Mile Handicap Road Race, and renamed in 1964 to honor Fred Kurz. Out and back on the Luce Line Trail. The surface is mostly hard packed granular clay. Please no headphones, dogs or strollers. Water will be available at mile 3.5 and 6.5.

Two recent race performances are required for handicapping purposes. Race Day pricing starts 4/13 to allow time for handicapping. Member discounts good though 4/12.
This race has been cancelled for 2020. The School District pulled the permit due to Covid-19.

Enjoy the camaraderie of a mass finish!

Start times are handicapped by the “world-renowned” Lanin Guessimetric Method (implemented by Rick Recker), with the slowest runners starting first and, ideally all runners finishing together.
