*** The 2018 Fred Kurz 10 Mile has been canceled***
The MDRA has decided to cancel the 2018 Fred Kurz in consideration of the safety of the runners and volunteers.
A wet trail, with forecasted freezing temps, ice and snow in combination with limited access points on the trail lead us to the conclusion that it won’t be a safe course. Full refunds will be issued within a week.
The Fred Kurz 10 Mile is the oldest continuously held running event in Minnesota, first held in 1962 and 1963 as the 10 Mile Handicap Road Race, and renamed in 1964 to honor Fred Kurz. Out and back on the Luce Line Trail. The surface is mostly hard packed granular clay. Please no headphones, dogs or strollers. Water will be available at mile 3.5 and 6.5.
